What Is LED?
LED lights are a cheaper, more energy-efficient lighting solution that is used by home and business owners alike for various means. We're all aware of the traditional bulbs which produce visible light used to illuminate a room by heating a filament until it glows. These incandescent lights are perfectly fine but they use up a huge amount of energy to heat said filament, this huge downside has given way to the increase in popularity of lights that use LEDs. Here, we're going to break down what an LED is, what it stands for and the types available. All of that will give you a better understanding of the devices we have on offer and help you figure out which unit is right for your specific needs.
What Does LED Stand For?
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode and is a popular choice on the market thanks to those aforementioned savings they can have on energy bills. The first two words, light-emitting, are pretty self-explanatory, but what is a diode, and what does it do? Essentially a diode is something that emits photons, and some of them can actually emit their energy as light rather than heat. The light-emitting ones used in our products are a type of solid-state lighting technology which means the illuminations come from a piece of solid matter.
Broadly, two types of LEDs feature in a range of products, including the ones we sell here at Vision Lighting. The first type is indicators, which are cheap devices used by companies in control panels on cars, or in other electronic devices. The second type is illuminators which provide, yes, you guessed it, illumination! These types of LEDs come in a range of different applications, as you'll see, such as LED bulbs, LED strip lights and trough lighting - all of which we sell here at Vision Lighting.
Our Range
We're proud to offer such a range of different LED products and love being able to help customers find the perfect solution. There are a whole host of reasons why people come to Vision Lighting for help - very often they are looking for ways to illuminate important information so that passersby immediately understand what their business is about, and what products or services it offers. Another reason may be an internal one, let's say they have a new head office and want an all-encompassing lighting solution, including ceiling panels and LED strips, that ensures their team can work productively and effectively without worrying about a lack of lighting, which can be harmful to eye health if optimum levels aren't found. As well as commercial properties, we also get homeowners who come to us who are looking for modern, stylish lighting solutions that can illuminate their driveway gates, garage, or front porch with crisp white light from wall lights or lamps.
In each of these scenarios, we're able to help and offer a bespoke solution that ensures quality, minimal maintenance, and long product life. We want our lights to help guide the way, whatever the purpose of them may be, not to cause more issues and problems than they solve. What follows is a brief breakdown of the different light fittings we have on offer for you.
Floodlights
Used to light up large spaces either for events, so that people and crowds can enjoy themselves, or for security, to allow CCTV cameras to attain clear pictures of criminals looking to cause criminal damage or commit robberies - LED floodlights can offer a bright, comprehensive solution. We have a huge selection of outdoor LED flood lights including 100W LED floodlights such as the TradeLED Osram floodlight which produces a massive 13000 lumens and smaller, 30W options, such as the JCC LED floodlight, which are ideal in domestic settings. Whatever your intended purpose is for your LED outdoor flood lights we can help you find the most appropriate solutions to meet the standards set out at the inception of your search.
LED Strips
LED light strips are an incredibly popular and cost-effective method of providing long-lasting illumination in a variety of colours. We have, so far, eight different LED strip lights on offer in red, green and blue as well as more neutral, softer colours. People enjoy this type of lighting solution because strips can be cut to exact sizes and, thanks to their self-adhesive backs, are easy to install in awkward, hard-to-reach places - all this ensures people only spend exactly what they need, without worrying about waste. Knowing how to install LED lighting strips is easy, and relatively straightforward, but if you do struggle, our team knows how to connect LED strips with their eyes closed and will be more than happy to help you.
Ceiling Panels
The correct LED ceiling panels can have transformative effects on your office space. We have seen first hand the effects drop ceiling light panels can have on an office, be it the mood it sets or the reliable, energy-saving illumination it offers for years and years. From the aforementioned drop ceiling panels such as the Kanlux Bravo Premium to LED ceiling light panels, such as the JCC Skydisc LED ceiling panel, that can be affixed to walls and ceilings wherever you desire, be it in meeting rooms or in individual office spaces. Both types of LED ceiling lights have their own unique purpose and we'll happily advise you about which one would be most appropriate for your commercial property.
Wall Lights
The right LED wall lights can set the mood for your home or office headquarters. We have a range of striking designs that do away with incandescent bulbs that need replacing and instead offer cutting-edge outdoor wall lights and LED scones that offer striking illumination which make a difference day or night. We have traditional designs such as the Swan Neck Sign Light which is available in black or brass which gives your home or pub a classic look without compromising on illumination. Or, for something more modern, why not choose our popular Up and Down Fixed Wall Light which is great for lighting up garden paths or walkways and is available in stainless copper, and stainless silver.
T8 LED Tubes
Offering up fantastic light emission and outstanding colour rendering capabilities for users, T8 LED tubes, a form of LED strip lights, are extremely popular among our clients who want all the benefits without the astronomical energy bills! We stock one great T8 LED tube, the Epistar LED, which can be fixed, helping illuminate a range of applications, in minutes. Many commercial and domestic customers love the versatility of this ultraviolet light that can be used to help plants grow and offer the right environment for exotic pets that are kept in domestic settings.
Bulbs
LED light bulbs are fast becoming the most popular choice when compared to tradition incandescent glass bulbs. Used to power lamps of all shapes and sizes, LED bulbs are cost-effective, bright, and last far longer than their incandescent counterparts. We've got in stock a variety of different LED light bulbs that will help power fluorescent lamps and incandescent lamps, as well as other commercial lamps and strips. We have GU10s, which are ideal for built-in wall lights such as those found in modern apartment buildings, as well as screw-in LED bulbs such as the GLS A60, which offers a softer illumination, and the clear C35's, which last for months and really do help light the way.
